He didn't start on the outside When He saved my soul from sin. He started on the inside,  And cleansed me from within. He took an old black heart, And washed it white as snow I simply cannot figure out  Just why He loved me so!

No, Jesus didn't promise me, I'd have an easy road. He only said, "Come follow Me, To a blessed abode." This friend will never leave me. He's standing  by my side. And I know that He will be there, When I cross death's chilling tide!

He made me new, new from the inside out! He took away, away all the fear and doubt! Oh, He wrapped me, me in His boundless love! And gave me new peace, peace from Heaven above!
